Do I need Thai Visa? (Tourist Visa Exemption)
According to the Interior Ministerial Announcements dated 1 October B.E. 2545 (2002), 20 December B.E. 2545 (2002), 18 October B.E. 2547 (2004) 6 May B.E. 2548 (2005) and 18 November B.E. 2556 (2013) passport holders from 49 countries are not required to obtain a visa when entering Thailand for tourism purposes and will be permitted to stay in the Kingdom for a period of not exceeding 30 days on each visit.
Note: Tourist Visa Exemption does not apply to foreigners holding Travel Document for Aliens issued by these countries.

*** If such nationals enter the Kingkom at the immigration checkpoints which border neighboring countries, they will be allowed to stay for 15 days each time, except (1) Malaysian Nationals who cross the borderling from Malaysia, (2) Nationals of the G7 countries: USA ,UK, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Japan, whose granted period of stay will not exceed 30 days each time. In addition, such nationals who hold diplomatic and official passports are also practically exempted from visa for tourism.

Remarks:
Nationals of Brazils, Republic of Korea and Peru are entitled for tourist visa exemption scheme. Meanwhile, Thailand also holds bilateral agreements on visa exemption for holders of diplomatic, official and ordinary passports for a visit of not exceeding 90 dayss with Brazils, Republic of Korea and peru.
To enter the Kingdom without visa you must provide that:
- Your purpose of visit is only for tourism
- You have the nationality of the above mentioned countries. Your passport must valid at least 6 months from the date that you enter toThailand.
- You must possess adequate finances for the duration of stay in Thailand (i.e., cash 10,000 Baht per person and 20,000 Baht per family)
- You arrive in and depart Thailand by any means of transport (air, land,or sea) through immigration checkpoints, any confirmed tickets to leave Thailand from the arrival date at the port of entry in Thailand must be obtained.
- You are required to obtain a visa if going to thailand for business, conference, research, study etc., or if you are planning to stay for more than 30 days for tourism.
